Terézia Mora Receives Camisso Prize in Munich
The writer and translator Terézia Mora was awarded the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize on Thursday. Born in the Hungarian city of Sopron, Mora was called "a boundary-crossing artist" by the literary critic Sigrid Löffler. With her work, Mora has contributed to furthering contact between foreign cultures and to changing perspectives within these relationships.The 39-year-old Mora became famous due to her novel "Every Day," publishedi n 2004.
The Adelbert von Chamisso Prize, awarded by the Robert Bosch Foundation, is considered Germany's most important literary price for German-writing authors who grew up with a non-German mother tongue. The prize money is 15,000 euros. The runner-up prizes of 7,000 euros each went to Khider Abbas from Iraq and Nino Haratischwili of Georgia.
