Mobile Network in the Principal Subway Stations in Munich
For a long time, the Munich-based transport company (MVG) resisted, but now it is making phone calls a possibility in the subway. In the beginning, passengers will only be able to make calls at the stations Central Station, Stachus, Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz Sendlinger Tor and Theresienwiese.
The main reason for the introduction of the underground network is security concerns. Although many passengers had stated that they did not want cell phone reception in the subway, the entire metro network should be outfitted with service by 2011.
There are differing opinions on the innovation. Some passengers see it as useful; others see it as irritating to hear people talking on the phone. Register to read more... |
